Science Olympiad

For children who keep asking why. Coaching for science olympiads and competitions that goes beyond the school syllabus: deeper concepts, thinking like a scientist, and contest-style questions.

Two ways to learn

Small groups are our main focus. Private 1-to-1 sessions are available for children who need a plan of their own.

Small groups

Our main focus
  • Typically 1 to 3 students per class, because olympiad training is niche and specialised
  • Primary and secondary groups, matched by level and contest
  • Children learn faster when they explain and debate ideas together
  • Contest-style practice, mock papers and progress reports

Private 1-to-1

By arrangement
  • A private session planned around one child
  • For a specific contest, a DSA goal or a topic to master
  • Times arranged with you
Ask about private sessions

Every child is different, so we plan each case individually. WhatsApp us your child's level and goals, and we will send you the details.

What we cover

Primary

Beyond-syllabus science across the MOE themes: diversity, cycles, systems, energy and interactions. Reading graphs and data, planning fair tests, and explaining answers with the right scientific words.

Secondary

Physics, chemistry and biology beyond the lower-secondary syllabus. Multi-step problem solving, experiment and data questions, and the reasoning that junior olympiads reward.

Thinking like a scientist

Asking good questions, predicting, testing and explaining why. The same skills make school science answers clearer and more complete.

Contests we prepare for

Most science olympiads are held in April and May, so the best time to start is the year before.

Students enter these contests through their school, and most registrations close between February and April. We prepare students for them. Organisers set the dates each year, so check with your child's school early in Term 1.

How to start

Tell us about your child

WhatsApp or email us your child's level, school and any contest you have in mind.

We talk it through

We ask a few questions about what your child enjoys and finds hard, and look at recent results if you have them.

We recommend a plan

A small group at the right level, or private 1-to-1 sessions, with the details and fees for your case.

Start learning

Your child joins a group or starts private sessions at our Ang Mo Kio centre.

Questions parents ask

Does my child need to be top in science?

No. Curiosity matters more than marks. Children who love asking why often do very well once the questions are interesting enough.

Which levels do you take?

Primary and secondary students. We place each child by level and by the contest they are aiming for.

How much does it cost?

It depends on whether your child joins a small group or has private sessions, and on the contest. WhatsApp us and we will send you the details for your child.

Will this help with DSA?

Olympiad results and the reasoning behind them can strengthen a DSA application in science. No centre can promise a DSA place, and we never will.

Ask about Science Olympiad

Tell us your child's level and goals. We will reply with the right group or a private plan, and the details.
